Dr. Mordechai Naor, born in Tel Aviv, Aug 19, 1934 is a scholar of the life and history of Israel and the Jewish people. He is an author and editor of many books, and has been a writer/researcher of dozens of radio and TV programs on the subject matter. Dr. Naor has held public and academic positions: a senior lecturer in Tel Aviv University; the head of the department for Israel studies in Beit Berl College; the head of the educational committee for Israel studies on behalf of the Ministry of Education; and the Israel National Parks Authority chairman of the board. In 2010 he was appointed as the head of the council for preservation of the House of Independence in Tel Aviv (the house that hosted the declaration of the state of Israel in 1948). In addition, Dr. Naor is a curator and advisor for exhibitions of the recent past of the state of Israel.
